A SAMsARA harvest day is a rich, personal, multi-sensory experience, and here's your chance to get into the fold. This event is geared towards students and lovers of wine who want time to ask both SAMsARA's winemaker, Matt Brady, and their advanced sommelier, Tristan Pitre, how the wine you are smelling, tasting and feeling is molded and how our winemaking decisions directly influence what's in the glass. If you've ever wondered how the layers of flavors in a wine are derived from choices in the vinification process, how whole cluster and oak play upon each other to create structure or how the balance between acid, tannin and fruit is achieved, you will learn more than you ever imagined you wanted.
Harvest is the most electric time to visit virtually—fermentation in the air, grapes coming in, and the cellar at full throttle. SAMsARA loves giving guests a peek behind the scenes— you will be able to see progressing fermentations, punch downs, cellar organization and their crew hard at work bringing you the purest expression of Sta. Located on the Central Coast of California in Santa Barbara County, SAMsARA Wine Co. crafts limited-production Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache, and Chardonnay from meticulously chosen micro-sites in Sta. Rita Hills’ most expressive and coveted vineyards. The ocean breezes cool our vines in the evening, and the sun warms the hillsides during the day, leading to a perfect climate for classic Burdundian and Rhône varietals. Guided by a philosophy that great wine begins in the vineyard, Winemaker Matt Brady selects blocks where soil, elevation, and exposure best reflect the site's potential. Minimal intervention in the cellar allows the purity of the fruit and the character of the terroir to shine through. All of our wines are made from sustainably farmed vineyards.
