Description
The wines in these five kits have been carefully selected to illustrate the concepts in the course – The New World – Southern Hemisphere, in the Culinary Institute of America’s Master’s Degree Program in Wine and Beverage Management.
This course focuses on the wines of the Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. Understanding the history, laws, terroir, and viticultural and vinicultural techniques, along with focused tastings of classic varieties, provides the template for understanding any wine-growing region. Examining the wines of these regions within these contexts enables learners to identify the unique aspects of the wine industry for each country and discuss their relevance in the global wine market.
Each kit includes a selection of 6 wines (187 ml / 6.3 oz. each ) – easily enough for two people to taste. The wines have been carefully selected by a CIA wine and beverage professor to illustrate the concepts of the area of focus.
These kits are typically only available for CIA master’s degree students. The kits will be shipped to your preferred address and will include a welcome letter with a link to pre-recorded guided tasting videos. You can taste at your leisure guided by our experienced and credentialed faculty.
